Mark your calendars, fashionistas! Bangkok International Fashion Week 2019 (BIFW 2019) is returning in all its glory for the 12th consecutive year this Mar 28-31, gathering some of the industry’s biggest names, rising Thai designers and top international labels to showcase their latest spring/summer 2019 collections.
This year’s event takes place under the concept of “We Wear Thai Designer,” which will take place at Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery.
The four-day event will feature 10 runway shows from 15 Thai and international labels. Kicking off day one of BIFW on Mar 28 is a surprise collaborative show between two of-the-moment womenswear labels, British brand Self-Portrait by designer Han Chong and Thailand’s very own Vatanika by designer Vatanika Patamasingh Na Ayudhya. The show will then be followed by Issue’s special 20th-anniversary collection which, judging from what we’ve seen from last year’s show and the recent-launched Resort Collection, should be another fantastic show to remember.
Mar 29 is dedicated to menswear, featuring trendy street-style labels including Boys of Bangkok (Leisure Projects, P.Smith and Q Design and Play) and Friday27Nov.
Mar 30 will start with Sor.Gor.Bor Warship by Prapakas followed by a curated show from multi-label store Absolute Siam, featuring fashion-forward brands like Iconic, Six P.M. and Wonder Anatomie. Milin Front Row will be ending the night with its gorgeous evening wear collection.
Finally on Mar 31, the event will end with three shows from three of Thailand’s most celebrated fashion houses—Nagara, Pichita and Tube Gallery, which will also be celebrating its 20th anniversary with a fabulous collection.
After the show, fashionistas eyeing their favorite pieces from the runway can head to the “See Now Buy Now” pop-up store at the Hall of Fame on the M floor, Siam Paragon, where key pieces from the collections will be exclusively available for purchase.
A fashion exhibition dedicated to fresh young talents from eight leading universities and institutes—Fash-Lab Chula by Chulalongkorn University and Fashion Business KU by Kasetsart University to name a few—will also be taking place at the Visionary Stage Atrium on the first floor of Siam Center.
