Deck By The River Restaurant, in the Arun Residence, does not need a rooftop to have one of the best views in town. The restaurant sits on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, right across the river from Wat Arun, or the Temple of the Dawn. The Arun Residence has been open for eleven years, and not much has changed since it first opened its doors. The Deck prides itself in remaining a consistent, authentic restaurant for its customers, and has attempted to keep the decor and impeccable service the same as it was when it first opened. The Deck serves up an a la carte breakfast, light lunch and exquisite dinner daily. Arun Residence consists of four floors and two different restaurants. The main restaurant is The Deck, which overlooks Wat Arun and serves up a huge menu of Thai-Western fusion cuisine. You will find Amorosa on the fourth floor, which is a cocktail and snack lounge.
Our favorite dish on the menu is the risotto wild mushroom and porcini mushroom cream sauce in truffle oil (฿400). It is both creamy and delicious, and is served with just the right amount of parmesan cheese. Enjoy the flawless view of Wat Arun with one of The Deck’s signature cocktails in hand, such as the Arun Sunset. This drink is made up of vodka, orange juice and apple juice before being topped with a fresh red apple and a cherry. Between the great service, mouthwatering food and awe-inspiring views of one of Bangkok’s most famous temples, this is one restaurant in Bangkok that you must visit.
