Coronavirus restrictions leave travel bloggers and social media influencers struggling for readership

Bloggers have said travel restrictions have left them feeling “rudderless” as the coronavirus outbreak continues to see enforced lockdowns around the world.

Paul Farrugia, from the GlobalHelpSwap: A Responsible Travel Blog, said up until a couple weeks of ago they had been experiencing a record breaking year in traffic.

Now Paul and his wife Karen are stuck at home in the UK and, like many travel bloggers, they are facing the dilemma of what to write about when few people are travelling.

He told the Evening Standard: “All of the campaigns have been put on hold so there’s no income coming from there.
